As a mom of a teenager, I understand the pressure of studies, especially the exam time pressure. I am glad that they are not in a school where the pressure is too much from the starting. I like the unconventional method of teaching in their school.

But as they go to higher grades, the burden of studies increases. This aspect of education has still not changed in our country. As parents, we can help our kids to cope up the pressure. Today I am using some famous quotes to help you understand how to help your kids with exam pressure.

  • ‘Encourage, instead of complaining’– Encourage the kids by appreciating them for their efforts. They need your support and encouragement and not complaining.
  • ‘Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.’ – Les Brown. If you have asked them to get a certain percentage and not less than that, then he is studying in fear. Fear of failure, which cannot let them study in peace. Do not give them a number and let them give their best.
  • When we have done our best, we should wait for our result in peace.’- J Lubbock. I always tell this to my daughters that if they have given their best, they should not worry about the results. Whenever they get tensed for exams and results, we always tell them to not think about the results. So, we should make our kids feel that we are there with them in all situations.
  • ‘It is not what you do for your children but what you have taught them to do for themselves which will make them a successful human being.’– Ann Landers. My elder one is an independent child when it comes to studies. She studies on her own as she has this habit of studying on her own from the starting. It’s always better not to make a child dependent on you as they will be better off when they are in higher grades.
  • ‘If you cannot be positive then at least be quiet.’ – As parents, we should never make remarks which can hurt them. Do not criticize your child for not studying or for not working hard. It is not going to help other than building undue pressure on them.

How do you think we can help our kids during exams to cope us with the pressure?
