Me and my mom :)

Me and my mom 🙂

A picture is worth a thousand words but the memories are priceless.

Sometimes we see people who remind us of our loved ones and it makes us sad, sometimes it makes us happy and sometimes it make us thankful towards them. My experience has been that it’s not just people that bring back old memories but it can be anything like a particular place or may be a song.

Even though my mom is not here with me anymore, there are so many things which remind me of her. One such thing is my relationship with my daughters who remind me of her and all her teachings every day in one way or the other. I think it kind of makes sense to enjoy our loved one’s qualities wherever we can find them. Old memories are never easy to deal with and everyday there is usually something that triggers a strong memory.

There are so many things which my daughters do every day and remind me of my mom, especially when they both fight. Me and my sister are just one year apart and were like twins, and I really wonder – How my mom used to do it with all the housework and a full time job and especially at the time when there was not much help available?

As they say, “By the time a woman understands her mother was right, she already has a daughter who thinks she is wrong.”

I am Mom

I will never be able to repay her for all the things she did for me, or for all the things she taught me. I never imagined, though, that I could continue to learn from her every day, even though she is not here with me anymore. Now I sometimes wish I could just turn back time to be a child and hug my mom again.
