If you are seeking out to spend some quality time enjoying some quiet time and calmness in a trip in Kerala, the backwaters here is a true delight. It consists of five lakes, around 40 rivers and many other lagoons, canals as well as estuaries.
The backwaters of Kerala is a beauty and a blessing that makes this amazing tourist destination different from others. Backwaters in Kerala is a mystery which many tourists would love to unfold and resolve.
Among the most visited backwaters destinations in Kerala, Alleppey and Kumarakom are the two main places. We wanted this trip to be only for Backwaters and didn’t want to run around. So, we planned to see Alleppey and Kumarakom to experience its real beauty.
DAY 2 HOUSEBOAT EXPERIENCE-
There were many houseboats lined up just behind Ramada and we could choose according to our need and requirements. They have different trips with different timings like for 5 hours, 7 hours, or 12 hours in which you can stay in houseboat during night too. We took a 5 hour trip in which they provided a welcome drink, Lunch and evening snacks.

I don’t think this kind of experience is there at any other tourist place. The houseboat ride is completely mesmerizing. These houseboats have all the essential amenities inside like a hotel. They are like a floating hotel as it has well-furnished bedrooms, kitchen, toilets, balconies etc. If you are with your family, you will cherish the most amazing time with family members under the nature’s lap. You must visit Kerala and the backwaters once in your life as this kind of experience you will not find anywhere else.
I will be sharing with you all our experience of another beautiful place -Kumarakom in next post.
