The Winter season is one of my favourite seasons. The main reason is the availability of different varieties of food items, especially fruits and vegetables. I remember my mom cooking dry fruit pinnies (ladoos), sweet and sour carrot and cauliflower pickle and carrot kanji, etc. I am sharing one of her recipes of Til and jaggery ladoos today. This combination of til and gud or jaggery is not only yummy but healthy also. On top of this, these are easy to make.

Winter foods –

Til or sesame seeds are a powerhouse of nutrition. These are rich in calcium, proteins, and antioxidants. 1 tbsp of sesame seeds a day is good for daily consumption. Jaggery is another winter special ingredient that is rich in iron, phosphorus, calcium, etc. The combination of both sesame seeds and jaggery is the best for the winter season. Til and jaggery or gud ladoos are very easy to make with just ingredients.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sesame seeds/til
  • ½ cup Jaggery/gud (add it according to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
Instructions
  1. First of all, roast sesame seeds in a pan and keep them aside to cool down.
  2. After it cools down, coarsely grind them.
  3. Now add powdered jaggery and ghee to the mixing jar.
  4. Mix everything together and make ladoos out of it.
  5. Store in a box and enjoy!
Notes
These ladoos are slightly on the sweeter side. You can reduce the quantity of jaggery if you want lower sweetness in your ladoos.

You can also add other ingredients like coconut and dry fruits to these ladoos.

It’s easier to give them the proper ladoo shape if the mixture is slightly warm.

Pro tip – To get the benefits of sesame seeds, you can dry roast them and have one tsp daily with breakfast.
