Gujiyas area Holi specialty.
  • 1 cupMaida
  • 1tbspSooji (Semolina)
  • ½tspBaking soda
  • 1tbspGhee
  • 1- 2 tbsp Milk
  • ¼ cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 1cup mawa/khoya
  • ¼ cup powderedSugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 10-12 Raisins/Almonds/Pistas/cashews
  • 2 tsp green cardamom pwdr.
  1. Gujiya dough-
  2. Take all the ingredients needed for gujiya dough.
  3. In a bowl combine all the ingredients.
  4. Knead a dough.
  5. Keep it covered with a cloth for 30 minutes.
  6. Gujiya mixture –
  7. Take mawa and coconut and roast it till brown.
  8. Take all the dry fruits separately and dry roast, grind and add this mixture in the mawa and coconut mixture.
  9. Add sugar and milk and cook for some time.
  10. The mixture should be wet and moist but easy to roll into balls.
  11. Gujiya preparation –
  12. Make small balls out of the dough and roll out in the size of puris.
  13. Fill in the mixture and seal it properly by applying water on the edges.
  14. You can also seal the edges with the help of fork by pressing it lightly on the edges.
  15. Deep fry them in the oil.
