Goa is one of the most happening and popular tourist destinations in India. It is also an all-time favourite tourist destination for tourists from different parts of the world. It attracts a lot of tourists from countries like Russia, Israel, and Europe. Goa the land of beaches is a small state situated in western Ghats on the border of Mumbai and Karnataka. It has 2 major parts, south Goa and North Goa and people choose one of them to plan their stay. Sometimes they divide it between both.

My memories of Goa – the land of beaches

I love Goa for its beaches, water bodies and yummy food. I went to Goa in 2012 and can’t wait to go back to explore it little more. We preferred staying in South Goa as we were travelling with kids. South Goa is a little calm and has clean beaches comparatively.

We stayed at a beautiful resort called Dona Sylvia and the best part was that our villa was that it was sea facing. The food was great and overall it was a comfortable stay. It was 4 days and 5 nights trip and on the second day, we hired a cab to visit North Goa and explored the town of Panaji. We saw the famous church, Fort Aguada and went to the Baga beach which is one of the famous beaches in North Goa.

There are many fun activities to do there and we did water sports and also hired a scooter for a day. I still remember how happy my little one was while riding on the scooter in the lanes of Goa. The best part was that the beach was just at a walking distance and we enjoyed a lot at neat, clean and peaceful beaches of South Goa.

Goa the land of beaches

About Goa- The land of beaches-

Goa is undoubtedly one of the most preferred holiday spots. Beaches are the main attraction and there are many popular beaches like Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Candolim, Morjim, etc. If you are going for a relaxing holiday with kids, I would recommend South Goa.  But if you are going with friends and exploring the nightlife and clubs, you can explore North Goa.

As it is along the coastline, the temperature is moderate. The best time to visit is from November to March but people visit it all year around.

The main places to see in Goa apart from beaches are –

Fort Aguada –A lighthouse and a fort which is standing there from the 17th century

The City of Panjim – the State capital of Goa where you can go for a cruise or explore different places.

Basilica of Bomb Jesus – A famous church at old Goa

Apart from these, there are few temples and churches but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, just enjoy the beaches at Goa.
