The little ones have a very active day. They are always on the run doing something or the other. So, their snack time is just as significant as mealtime. It is important to give a wholesome snack that replenish their energy and makes their taste buds happy. It gets difficult if they are choosy eaters. That’s why moms lookout for healthy snack ideas for toddlers.

Here is a list of some healthy and nutritious snacks that kids would love to munch. As a mom of a toddler, I try all these options and my daughter loves these.

Carrot and Cucumber sticks with Hummus

This is a favourite snack for my kid. Carrots are rich in Vitamin A. Cucumber has a lot of fiber and electrolytes. Hummus is high in protein. It is perfect for munching while playing.

Yogurts

Yogurt is a wonderful source of calcium and protein. The market is full of flavored yogurts but they contain unhealthy levels of sugar. A healthy substitute to this is plain Greek yogurt mixed with fruits that your kid loves. Fruits are natural sweeteners and when combined with yogurt, it makes a delicious snack.

Baked Sweet Potato Wedges

Sweet Potatoes are high in Vitamin A. They are a healthy alternative to potato fries. Cut a sweet potato into wedges, drizzle some oil, add salt, pepper, and bake them in the oven. Or just microwave a sweet potato for 3 minutes, peel and cut. Sprinkle some salt and lemon juice. The little tummies will love it.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

This is one easy to make and healthy snack option. A good alternative to sugar-laden juices. Strawberries are rich in Vitamin C. Banana is full of Potassium and Vitamin B6. Blend together a (ripe) banana, a couple of strawberries, and add some cold milk. Pour it in their favourite cup and yummy smoothie is ready.

Avocado Spread and Cucumber Sandwich

Avocado is incredibly nutritious. It has fiber, potassium, and healthy fats. On a wholemeal bread spread some mashed avocado, put in some thinly slice cucumber. A bit of salt and pepper. A nutritious snack is ready.

Fruit Bowl

It is the best snack for morning tea. Cut and put all the favorites fruits in a bowl. We call it a rainbow bowl. It’s full of fiber, essential vitamins, and minerals. Not only kids even adults would love it.
