Life has completely changed in the last few months. We’ve all been impacted in some or the other way. The new normal has brought a digital future-forward and it has surely changed the buying behaviour of many people. Schools are online, online shopping is becoming common now and eCommerce websites are getting higher traffic than usual. One thing which I am thankful for is the online health services in India.
My recent experience of online health consultation
We recently used online doctor services twice and it was surely a good experience. A few weeks back my daughter got a big rash due to some allergy and it was a little painful for her too. We took an appointment in a hospital nearby for online consultation with a dermatologist. I was pleasantly surprised to see how everything was planned properly to give a pleasant experience to patients. It was a video consultation and the doctor prescribed some medicines for it. Immediately after the consultation, we got a message from the pharmacy that our medicines are ready to be delivered.
In another incident, for an infection, I had to consult the doctor and she asked me to go for a blood test. So, the lab in the hospital contacted me and fixed the date to come home to pick up the sample. In short, everything was smooth and easy for us.
It’s good to see that things are changing and how the digital world is slowly taking over in a positive way.
Online health services in India
Online doctors’ consultation and medicine delivery are really helpful, especially at this time. Ideally, medical consultation should be done face to face and that’s how it’s been till now but looking at the current situation, online health services are the best option. It’s a boon to many especially elderly and kids who cannot step out of their house to visit hospitals. Most of the hospitals these days have an online consultation facility.
The good news is that there are also many apps that help connect patients to the right hospitals and doctors. The second consultation that I took was through an online app and it was a great experience.
What did my experiences teach me?
My experience with online health services in India told me that I was in need of a health insurance plan that would change with the changing times. It needed to understand how my family’s health needs have evolved over a short period of 3 months. That’s when I came across this:
With ICICI Lombard’s complete health insurance, you can secure health costs for as long as you live. And not only that, even your family members will be covered for expenses on account of COVID-19!
They have also launched a Take Care App which is a one-stop solution for doctors and medicines in India.
Telemedicine, the new norm
Healthcare should be simple, fast, easily accessible and uncomplicated. Apps like Take Care make it easy to visit a doctor through your mobile.
Online consultation gives you all the services at your fingertips. Of course, there are some limitations with the doctor not being able to examine you physically but with the advancements in the digital world, I am sure this will also be a thing of the past.
As a recent user of online health apps, I definitely recommend everyone to try them. You can get access to quality healthcare without even leaving your home, your workspace, or wherever you are. Isn’t it a great way to #RestartRight?
