“She turned her cant’s into can’s and her dreams into plans!”
Dipa Karmakar, PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik- They are all “girls” and they have all made India proud at international level.
“India”- The same country in which people look at girls as a burden, and boys as assets.
The same country where people do not want girls and see boys as a preferred gender to have.
The same country in which people want to kill girl child before she is born.
The same country where people cry when a girl child is born.
The same country where people hope to have only boys so that, “Unka vansh aage badega.”
The same country where parents don’t want to spend on a girls education as she is a “paraya dhan.”
The same country where parents get stressed out as they have girls.
The same country where parents worry only about getting a good husband for them.
The same country where there is gender discrimination in every field.
The same country where a daughter’s wedding is related only to dowry.
The same country where we worship goddesses but we disrespect girls.
I know the scenario is changing but still, there is a need for a lot of change. I can see the change but there are two sides of the coins- one side looks promising but one side still looks grim and gloomy. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and keep our hopes high for more such girls to shine and make our country proud. Don’t forget that she brings new life into this world and she creates life.
If you see a girl as a burden, you should not be a parent to either gender! See them as a gift, see them with love, see them with equal eyes as they are no longer a “BURDEN”.
More power to girl power! Proud of #PV Sindhu #Dipakarmakar #Sakshimalik and many other unsung heroes of our country.

Very well-written. I hope after the success of Dipa-Sindu-Sakshi, some people will think twice before branding their daughters as burden….

That is so awesomely and truthfully written.
yes I m proud of girls, I am from the family where there are always majority of female gender and we all cherish that. They are no different from boys, the only that occurs is with the mentality of parents and society.
