The number of asthma cases is rising each passing day. More than 100 million people are suffering from asthma around the globe. According to research conducting by WHO, the number of deaths has reached around 180,000 annually. Talking about statistics, India has an estimated 15-20 million asthmatics. With the rising number, it becomes imperative that people start taking steps in order to keep their family members safe from falling prey to asthma.
So, if you or someone else in the family is suffering from asthma, an air purifier from any of the popular healthcare brands like KENT can significantly help clean the air inside the home.
Can Air Purifiers Prevent Asthma Symptoms?
Well, to be precise, yes. Air purifiers effectively remove small particles in the air that can prevent asthma symptoms. They work well in the room placed and make the atmosphere and the air healthy for everyone’s consumption. Furthermore, if you want your entire house to be free from harmful contaminants, consider installing an air purifier in all parts of the house for maximum benefit. Many Indian healthcare brands offer air purifiers designed specially to clean indoor air. However, the problem is how to choose the right one from the available options? Here we have listed the questions that you need to know before buying one.
Tips for Choosing the Right Air Purifier
- The first and the most important thing to identify is that the air purifier you are planning to buy is large enough for the room size or not. Will it be able to clean the room air every three to six minutes or not? To determine the adequate size, inquire about the appliance’s clean air delivery rate (CADR).
- Another thing to keep in consideration is the ease of changing the air filter. With a smoker in the house, the need of changing the filter may occur faster than normal. Also, inquire about the cost and the effort involved in changing the filter.
- Energy consumption and cost is another thing to keep in mind when choosing an air purifier. Regarding energy savings, KENT Aura is the best air purifier in India that can improve the indoor quality in a short time.
- Last but not the least, inquire how much noise will the chosen air purifier will make. A noisy air purifier can disrupt your sleep, so make sure you pick the right one.
Remember, selecting the right air purifier is the only way to improve the quality of air in the house. So, if you are anyone in the house is suffering from asthma, an air purifier is likely to improve the control over the disease. In addition, if there is second-hand smoke in the house (smoker), make sure the air purifier you buy has a high CADR (Clean air delivery rate). High CDR ensures that the air is 100% clean and apt for everyone in the house.

So much research need to be done before buying an air purifier. As you mentioned if there is a smoker in the house then we should account for that too while considering the air purifier. I tend to lean toward those indoor plants to keep the air quality better inside the house, though. ?Nice article, Deepa.

Air purifiers can help to control asthma to a great degree but it can’t prevent it completely. After all we are not confined to spaces with air purifiers. I have an air purifier at home so I know first hand they are so worth it.
