Parenting is a continuous journey of learning, relearning, and unlearning. No parent gets it perfectly right—and that’s okay. The world our children are growing up in today is vastly different from the one we knew. It’s fast-paced, hyper-connected, and constantly exposed to technology, information, and external influences. In such a changing landscape, it becomes equally important for parents to evolve their mindset. This belief was further reinforced when I recently watched Hello Bachhon on Netflix.

About Hello Bachhon – The Web Series
Hello Bachhon is inspired by the journey of Alakh Pandey, a passionate physics teacher who began teaching through a simple YouTube channel and went on to become one of the most loved educators in the country.
The series beautifully captures his struggles, failures, resilience, and eventual success. It also weaves in stories of students from different backgrounds—many of whom, despite difficult circumstances, found direction and success through his teachings.

Why Parents Must Watch Hello Bachhon
As a mother, I found the series incredibly relatable. While many shows discuss the “rat race” and the pressure to become an engineer or doctor in India, Hello Bachchon stands out because it presents these realities through a deeply personal and inspiring lens.
It subtly questions the traditional definitions of success and highlights the emotional and mental pressure children often go through. It reminded me of something I’ve always believed—and often shared in my previous blog posts.
As parents, our role is not to impose dreams, but to understand them.
My husband and I strongly believe in not pressurising our children to follow a predefined path. Instead, we try to listen, guide, and support them in discovering what they truly want to do in life.
What Lessons Hello Bachhon Teaches Us
One of the biggest takeaways from the series is that success is not limited to degrees from prestigious institutions. Alakh Pandey himself is a college dropout, yet his impact and success speak volumes.
The show emphasizes that determination, consistency, and hard work matter far more than labels. Failures are not the end—they are simply a part of the journey. What truly counts is the courage to keep going despite setbacks.
Another powerful message is that where there is a will, there is always a way. It’s easy to find excuses, but real growth comes from pushing through challenges and staying committed to your goals.
It also highlights the importance of mentorship—how the right guidance at the right time can completely change a child’s direction in life.

Final Thoughts – A Reminder for Every Parent
Hello Bachchon is more than just a story about a teacher or a student’s journey—it is a mirror for parents.
It reminds us to pause and reflect:
- Are we listening enough to our children?
- Are we supporting their individuality or shaping them based on societal expectations?
- Are we valuing effort over outcomes?
In a world driven by competition, this series gently nudges us to choose empathy over pressure, understanding over control, and encouragement over comparison.
At the end of the day, our children don’t need perfect parents—they need present, patient, and supportive ones.
And perhaps, that is the most important lesson of all.
