“Parents are a child’s first and best teachers and home is the first classroom!”
I whole wholeheartedly agree that teaching is one of the most important professions. As long as you are teaching them how to think, not what to think.
This one is dedicated to my parents, my mentors, my guides, my strength and also my biggest weakness. Every teacher’s day, I remember them even more and feel proud to be their daughter.
Happy teacher’s day to all my teacher friends and family. I salute the spirit of a teacher as it is not easy being one. They are the unsung heroes who make difference in a child’s life by motivating and guiding them. Although parents are the first teachers, a teacher’s role in shaping a child’s future can’t be ignored too.

We really are what we see , the values our parents exhibit in action are what we pick up. Am a firm believer of this school of thought and whole heartedly agree with your post’s theme . Parents are the best and most influential teachers . Everything from table manners to gender stereotypes to being one’s own person .. I am Planning to teach my kid everything 🙂

Dear Deepa!
True, we are what we have seen our parents do and what our parents had wanted us to be. Every time a child wins or fails it is actually the teaching and dedication of a parent that shows or does not show. I strongly believe what you have put in those beautiful lines.

Obviously, the first teachers we have in our lives in most cases are our parents. They teach us to speak, walk, ride a bike, behave ourselves etc. From my everyday experience and observation I can totally agree with the statement that parents are the best teachers. They with great patience pass down the essential knowledge that we need in order to join “the real world”. Children often copy their parents’ habits and traits because children are sure that parents do only right things. Often children’s first wish is to be like their mother of father. Parents are the best teachers because they wish their children a success and they do not teach them bad things. I think that parents are the best teachers because they give their knowledge that can not be taken from books when it needs to be known by children.

Beautiful poem. Mum and dad have been the best teachers I could have. They taught me a lot of stuff that no school can teach. I’m forever indebted to them for this.
