Mom’s birthday is my first attempt at writing fiction. It was a on the prompt and we had to write in 100 words. I hope you like it.
“Happy Birthday Mommy,” I said. My mother looked at me with surprise.
“I am an old lady now, I don’t need celebrations like this anymore,” she said looking at the sea-facing restaurant.
“No, Mom, You deserve it as you are my angel. Nothing can change that,” I said.
Her words echo in my heart as I look at the blue sky and the deep blue water.
“Dear daughter, nothing remains the same except this water and vast blue sky.” It has been five years since I lost my angel.
And she was wrong about one thing- I still need her.
This is written for #FridayFotofiction 100 words fiction by Mayuri and Tina. Hope you liked my short story for my mom’s birthday. If you like it, let me know in the comments below so that I can try more fiction.
I lost my mom a few years back and this prompt took me back to the days with her and the time we were together for her birthday.
