Honey is used by people as a medicine and also as a food. Many also use it as a substitute for sugar. It has many health benefits but the number of calories is same as sugar. Many people take honey with lime in water first thing in the morning thinking it is better than sugar. So, if you are using it as a substitute for weight loss, you must know that the number of calories is same.
Of course, it is better than sugar which is just empty calories. Honey has antioxidants and few vitamins and minerals. It is also popular for its medicinal properties and used by many to cure a cough and cold naturally. In Ayurveda, people use it to heal wounds and cuts due to its anti-bacterial properties.
Honey is a healthier alternative to sugar but not less in calories. #Nutrition #Health Click To TweetIt can also be used in face packs with different ingredients as it’s good for skin and makes it smooth and beautiful. It’s better not to store it for a longer period of time as it loses some of its properties. Lighter colour honey or raw honey is better than the darker variety.
Strawberries are rich in antioxidants too. They are also loaded with vitamins and minerals. When strawberries are in season, make sure to use them in different recipes if you can. My daughters love strawberries and for me, it’s another reason to find some healthy and yummy recipes with strawberries.
Honey strawberry milkshake is a very easy and quick recipe. As summers are around the corner, you can easily make it at home with any kind of berries. I am using strawberries as they are easily available. You can use honey in any kind of milkshake or summer drinks.
One more magic secret ingredient for this recipe which I add to my smoothies is chia seeds. It’s optional for you. But it’s recommended to increase the nutrition quotient. Chia seeds are rich in calcium and are small energy boosters. Rich in fiber, omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins and minerals make it a superfood. It’s better to use soaked chia seeds as the nutrient availability is much better and they are easy to digest.
These are tiny black seeds which are called Sabza seeds in Hindi but there is no particular name for them in Hindi. They help in reducing weight, act as laxative and as they help t keep you full for longer period of times, it is good for diabetics.
It is a quick, fast, easy and healthy breakfast option. You can have it in the morning before going to work and it’s also good for the finicky eaters who run away from milk. As summers are around the corner, it can be a yummy summer treat for the kids. It is a healthy homemade shake which is much better than the packet ones we get outside.
