The festivals are always special as they bring excitement, fun and a feeling of joy. We have so many different festivals in India and there are different ways to celebrate them too. During our stay in the US, we got to observe and celebrate the famous festivals like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter and many more. I am sharing our memories of Xmas celebrations in New York.
Christmas is celebrated in many different ways around the world. New York is one such place where Christmas and the new year celebrations are at a grand level.
My memories of Xmas celebrations in New York –
During our stay in the US, we didn’t get to visit New York much but went there for a short visit during Christmas break. We stopped to just witness the famous celebrations.
It is completely magical as you can see the spirit of Christmas all around the city. Christmas lights and decorations were everywhere and the city looked lovely at night. The major tourist destinations like Empire state building are decorated for Christmas and look lovely.
We saw many people ice skating in the central park but we skipped it due to time crunch. The malls have beautiful decorations with Santa lands everywhere and kids getting pictures clicked with Santa. The lines are so long for meeting Santa that many people find a time when there are fewer people to come back.
It was fun doing window shopping as the decorations are beautiful. There are special Christmas markets which are fun to explore. We just had a day to explore the beautiful Christmas of New York but it was surely a lot of fun.
Xmas celebrations around the world –
My fondest memory from our stay in the US is of the snowfall, beautiful lights and decorations and Christmas carols. For the whole month of December, all the radio channels play only Christmas carols and it used to be so much fun listening to the famous ones while driving.
The famous Christmas celebrations around the world are –
New York
Bondi beach Australia
Dublin, Ireland
Midnight mass at Venice, Italy
Santa clause village Finland
Tokyo, Japan and many others.
Have you been to any of these places? Do you have any special memories of Christmas celebrations anywhere?
Do let me know in the comments below.
I am sharing my memories of different places from my travel list this April.

I was there in Singapore during Christmas time one year. The decorations on Orchard Road were amazing. But, the best part of this was the amazing shopping deals!

Christmas in New York is memorable. Infact, all of northern part of North America assumes a special character during Christmas. Universities have thin attendance for almost ten to fifteen days. Sky is cloudy. Everyone talking about Christmas gifts. Shops are decorated. It is simply beautiful. New York is the epitome of all Christmas celebration. It is most enjoyable to be at New York during Christmas and soak the ambience.
